What the rider knowledge test asks
Motorcycle knowledge tests draw on your state’s motorcycle manual. They ask about protective gear, braking and turning, lane position, hazards and road surfaces, alcohol and fatigue, and how to be seen by other drivers.
Because most of the manual comes from national rider-training standards, many questions carry across states. Helmet and permit rules are the parts that change most.
